I have not read Ron’s books, but I can certainly agree with using the Bible as a life manual! Check them out.

Lessons of Life:

This book was written as a result of my sister saying one day, “You know that to have lived for over 70 years, we must have learned something!”

That got me thinking:

I was raised in Hawaii – before it was a state; I lived in France for two years as a young man; I have been thrown off a train in Germany in a small town – in the middle of nowhere with no money, and no German language skills; I have been to 16 countries, and about a dozen islands; I taught English on a Greek island for a few weeks – and did so having absolutely no experience as a teacher; and actually had surgeons laughing during a heart procedure.

I have been married for 49 years (same woman – poor soul) and have lived from counting quarters to go to McDonalds – to having meals in Paris, Rome – and Athens – — and then back to McDonalds!

You know, I would have to have been a moron not to learn certain things along the way.

Now, assuming you are younger than I am – the odds are pretty good that you can learn something from my experiences, and rambling. I actually think you can!

You have nothing to lose! Well, $7.00 something, I guess. Heck, you can lose that by buying one greasy hamburger – and a coke that is no good for you anyway.

Give me a shot! I’ll bet you will get some laughs, and – who knows – maybe a little insight.
Go ahead!

Successful Habits

I wrote this book after being dismayed about all the publicity about `The Secret` and various renditions of the Law of Attraction. While completely valid, all the hype was that somehow someone had `discovered` the secrets of life – and for a paltry $99 – $???? They would share these marvelous secrets with you. The promise was that it would change your life.

The truth is – as I see it – that the ` secret ` is really no secret at all. The most ancient writings tell of it – as well as the Bible. Actually the Bible is full of these `secrets’.

You can pick up a Bible for far less than one of these courses will cost!

So, being dismayed at the proliferation of these `clandestine revelations’, I vowed to bring to the surface that what was lacking in our society was not some `covert source’ of information, but rather the application of these principles.

So, this little handbook was born. It goes into the actual application of these beliefs, or laws, and does it with humor and wit. Each page has a saying, or representation of some type, to make the point in that chapter.
And rather than relying on these purported `secrets` – it actually ties the principles to one of the newest branches of science – Quantum Physics. Isn’t that interesting?

You will find that it is a fun read – and a very insightful step-buy-step guide for the person who really truly wants to live a fuller life.

There is no hype about becoming a multi-millionaire in the next 90 minutes, but it does provide a program – which can (and should) change your life for the better – in very short order.

Realistically, you will love it – and what it can do for you!

Guest Post by Shaina Climberg, Author of To Be Sane

I haven’t read Shaina Climberg’s books, but she is a member of several Christian author groups I belong to, and writes about young people in high school facing bullying. Please check out her books on Amazon!

1. Tell us a little about your “real” (Non-writing) life — family, job, church life. Does it give you inspiration for your writing? Does it get in the way of your writing, or are there times when you get help, from people or circumstances?

As of today, I have a job interview at Kohl’s. I am into artwork and fashion, so this would be a great opportunity for me. Not only does Kohl’s sell clothes, it also sells accessories and items for the house. I’ve denied how much of a girly girl I am for as long as I could, but I think it’s safe to say I’m pretty girly. I am all girl and never had a boyfriend. However, my characters date. I attend a very exciting Christian church, which I am fairly new to. They are associated with Church of Christ. They have an awesome praise band and are very friendly so far. I mash up experiences in my books. However, not everything in my books are experienced by me. Some are inspired by other peoples’ experiences, what I read online, what I read in other books. Some come from TV shows and movies. I will always be grateful to Disney Channel’s “Austin and Ally” for reviving my desire to write about people in a band, although my unpublished books have been about a worship center. The main characters in those books were not in a band, though one did sing. Even Before “Austin and Ally” I had characters sing in unpublished works and had some singing in “Perfect Forgiveness” at an open mic night. “Glee” and “Glee Project” have helped too. Of course, I do not agree with some of the morals but I love how spirited the actors get in their songs. Sometimes, they do really well.  Though, I wish it was more like the Glee of Seasons One and Two. I am really sad about Corey Monteith’s (Finn) passing. He had so much promise. He was really going somewhere.  If any of you are fighting a drug addiction, please do not let it win. Look how sad his girlfriend, Lea Michele was. Look how sad they all were. Watch “The Quarterback” on Glee. You can watch it on FOX.  I will be watching it this coming Thursday. Look at how sad the fans are. Do you want to affect the people in your life this way? There are people who love you, care about you…whether you know it or not. Even mediocre fans like me are saddened by this loss of life. This is all coming from someone younger than he was.

2. Tell us about things you enjoy — what you do for fun or personal satisfaction.

I enjoy music, laughter, artwork, shopping, kicking around a soccer ball, coffee and I like junk food way too much. I also want to eat healthy and I exercise. I also like deep conversation. I like, to an extent, social science and fashion. I also like to learn about other people and their story.

3. Tell us about your newest book. Make us want to read it.

To Be Sane is my newest book. It focuses on issues such as suicide. It also focuses on bullying, including cyberbullying. The main characters are in a band with other people from their church. Selena Harrison is very outgoing, but suffers from OCD and Asperger’s Syndrome. She likes Andy Young a lot. Andy is very shy and awkward. He’s also a good drummer and I tried to make him a little bit of a geek. He likes Selena.  Josh Summers is not a main character in this book, but he is there for Andy at times. Andy is not into drama and was never mean to Josh and his friends in previous books. Andy’s friends were not mean either. This book, while still very serious and at times dark, is lighter and more of a fun read than the first two books in the Deep River High Series. Selena and Andy goof around a lot. We get to see Kirk Williams briefly in this book. If you are mad at Kirk Williams from “Perfect Forgiveness” still, you may have found an ally in Andy Young. He is pretty mad. Both Andy and Selena are fourteen.

4. What is the “message” of your writing? (For example, is your purpose to encourage old-fashioned values, encourage romance, or do you have different purposes in different books?)

I want to encourage teens and young adults to have fun and live for God at the same time. I also want to let them know they are not alone in their struggles or confusion.

5. Share something that makes you laugh, with just plain humor, or happiness, or because it’s so stupid.

This morning, I could not wake up. Then, I had to go bathroom twice and then I got my foot stuck in the handle of a bag. I was in such a hurry, I went out in my PJs. Besides, I did not want to dirty up what I was wearing to my interview. So, I put that on when I went home.

6.  What’s your next project? Tell us so we can’t wait for it to come out!

Well, I have a few ideas up my sleeve.  I could break a rule and write about Josh’s sister Alice, in the series. I could write about Amanda and have her be paired up for a project with someone who does not seem like a lot of fun to work with. I could write about Lydia and whether she wants to go to a college near the beach or at home.

7.  Share something that’s amazing, touching, or that makes you angry.

I will share something amazing. One of my cousins told my sister they had one more day left at the beach to do whatever they wanted. She ran to the ocean. I thought to myself, “That would make a good movie trailer.”

8.  Have you done anything writing-related, but besides your books, that seemed to get a lot of positive response? Something that encouraged you?

I think Sara (Precarious Yates)  liked my talk about Narnia in another blog. It was a relief to her, because so many complain about the books and movies.

9. How will you tempt guys to read your books?

A woman loves a kind, chivalrous, romantic man!

10.  Tell us one place you visited or person you met, that made a big impression on you, and why.

Little kids make the biggest impression on me, because they say things which are so funny and shocking. They are so adorable!

Here is a link to all of my books 🙂
